Bonnie Hearn Hill
About Bonnie Hearn Hill Author, teacher, and public speaker Bonnie Hearn Hill loves mentoring writers almost as much as she loves writing itself. Bonnie worked as a newspaper editor for 22 years, a job that, along with her natural nosiness, increased her interest in contemporary culture. Her 2003 novel, Intern was called " a page-turner" by Publishers Weekly. Killer Body (February 2004), a thriller about our weight-obsessed culture, was a Cosmopolitan magazine pick. In September 2006, Bonnie's series of newspaper thrillers from MIRA Books featuring hearing-impaired reporter Geri LaRue, debuted with If It Bleeds. Cutline was published Oct. 1 and Off the Record was published Nov. 1. She has also written nonfiction, including a co-authored book on the Scott Peterson murder trial. A national conference speaker, contest judge and volunteer faculty member for the Yosemite Writers Conference, Bonnie has mentored some of the San Joaquin Valley's most successful authors, including Hazel Dixon-Cooper, now the Cosmopolitan magazine Bedside Astrologer; mystery novelist Sheree Petree; editor and award-winning nonfiction author Cindy Wathen; Woman's Day magazine essayist Wendy Revell; cowboy poet Bob Brown (Story Line Press); Hackney Literary Award winner Gary Hill (no relation); humor writer (Redneck Haiku, Santa Monica Press) Mary Witte; and multi-published quilting pioneer Jean Ray Laury. In addition to her novels, for the past year, she has been writing reviews and interviews for Publishers Weekly. A long-time admirer of Authorlink and Doris Booth, Bonnie is excited by the opportunity to work one-on-one with writers in this hands-on, one-of-a-kind course. "I've always been amazed by how innovative and ahead of the rest Authorlink has been from the start," she says. "This course is just another example of that. Our goal is to provide the same quality of education and connection that has made my California classes work so well for so many."
Bonnie Hearn Hill's latest novel Here's what some of Bonnie's students say: "Bonnie's editorial skills are superior, and she's one of the most sought-after writing instructors in the country. She is one of those rare individuals who gives 100% to each of her students, and she's truly dedicated to helping writers succeed. My career is proof of that." —Hazel Dixon-Cooper who received a six-figure advance "She is quite simply the finest editor I've ever met and/or worked with. And I don't say that lightly. She's a truly gifted editor." —Cindy Wathen Editor of the award-winning nonfiction book, Bonnie's critique class was very helpful and straightforward. She paid attention to everyone in the class and took time to comment on each manuscript. One could tell she knows her subject. I also liked her constructive criticism. The electronic class was easy to manage and I was very impressed with the software and the way it was conducted. I only wish the class had been longer! —Besa, Winter Springs, FL [ Return to top. ] [ Return to list of courses. ] Doris BoothDoris Booth, CEO of Authorlink.com, has an in-depth knowledge of the industry and working relationships with a broad range of editors at major publishing houses as well as East Coast and West Coast literary agents.
