It's that time of year--a time for peace, joy , and crazy relatives. That's the topic of Sandra Harper's newest book, OVER THE HOLIDAYS. In this Authorlink AUDIO interview, Sandra talks with humor and honesty, about her long journey to publication, serving as a model of inspiration for other authors.  Listen to how she broke into publishing, and learn more about her latest fiction.

In OVER THE HOLIDAYS, a dutiful wife and mother goes in search of a simpler, more meaningful holiday. But her good intentions quickly go comically awry.

For Californian Vanessa Channing, wife of JT and mother of twin boys, the holidays have come to symbolize a long and obligatory cross-country plane trip, followed by a week of confinement as house guest, and unwitting participant in all festivities traditional her sister-in-law Patience cooks up for the two families in her very New England home.

This year, Vanessa vows, is going to be different. She is determined that they are going to stay home and celebrate quietly together, creating their own simple, but meaningful Christmas rituals.

Fate, alas, has other plans.

Sandra Harper is the author of the novel HIGH TEA. An accomplished playwright who also writes frequently about food, she lives with her husband and son in Los Angeles.
